December 22, 2003, Mahnee Cabase died in his sleep at approximately 1:30 am at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco California. As his wife Sheila heard the nurse come in to do her routine check up, she was told that Mahnee had stopped breathing. It was Mahnee Cabase's relief from his three month battle with his Stroke that had rendered him half paralyzed and unable to speak since September 24, 2003, Wednesday, just an hour after the midnight of September 23, 2003.

Mahnee Cabase was a singer, songwriter, musical director, computer musician, instrumentalist of at least 28 musical instruments, arranger, conductor, bandleader and musical director during the hey day of Visayan movies. January 20, 2004 only 28 days after Mahnee died, Sheila succumbed to congestive heart failure early morning at approximately 10:00 am at her son's house. Earlier, four days after Mahnee's demise, Sheila was taken to the Peninsula Hospital when she had difficulty breathing. Her death shocked hundreds and hundreds of friends and acquantances from all over the world who were still reeling from her husband's death and sending their expressions of sympathy and words of comfort to her.

Sheila Cabase's final services held at Duggan's Mortuary in Daly City California and at the Dimasalang Chapel in San Francisco were attended by hundreds of people from all over the Bay Area and from many parts of the world. Her viewing lasted from early afternoon to evening with friends and relations paying their respects with continuous rosaries, prayer offerings and music. The Ceremony of Flowers handled by the Morante Family in tribute to Sheila was a thing of beauty befitting a truly loved friend and "Mommy" to many. Sheila is pictured here wearing one of her favorite costumes for Mardi Gras. They were fond of costume and motif celebrations. Costume was designed by Maya of Las Vegas.
